Heartland Publications Files Chapter 11

Heartland Publication, LLC which owns 23 dailies in 9 states has filed for Chapter 11 protection with hopes of emerging in the spring.

What's interesting is that accompanying the story about Heartland, the AP has issued a sidebar detailing other newspaper bankruptcies from the past couple of years.
