PullQuote: A New Kind of Duress

Bobby Goodson, star of Discovery's Swamp Loggers on what it's like to work on camera;

It took a little while to get used to. But when you got cameras in your face for five and a half months, you kind of get used to them. It's aggravating. I'm not going to tell you it's not. Because they do get in the way. And we're out there trying to do our job and they're trying to do their job and sometimes we collide. But there haven't been any fights yet.

Phil McGraw Getting Sued Left & Right

Two women who participated in a 2007 episode of Dr. Phil have sued because they were subjected to a naked man, and a Minnesota man has also filed suit against Dr. Phil McGraw and his show's spin-off, The Doctors, because segments from an episode in which he participated was rerun over his objections.

The commonality between these lawsuits seem to be the amount of pressure applied to sign the release and their overall treatment by staff.

The women had agreed to spend a week in the "Dr. Phil House" along with four others to help combat their social anxiety. When a naked man showed up for dinner, the women locked themselves in a bedroom and though they strongly objected, they allege that the staff belittled and showed little regard for their concerns.

While the man had agreed to do an episode of The Doctors, where his pearly penile papules or penis blemishes were to be removed at no charge. The patient alleges that at pretty much every step, he was misled about the show's purpose, offered false reassurances and though he apparently didn't sign a requested release to allow a rerun, segments were rebroadcast as part of an "embarrassing moments" show.

R5 Sons: Alaska

A guest visiting Rainy Pass Lodge in the Alaska Range suggested that life for the family with five sons, on a ranch accessible only by air in one of the most remote places on the American frontier would make for a good reality show.

At first, Steve Perrins dismissed the idea, but after further consideration and probably a few discussions, the family hired cinematographers, editors and at the cost of "hundreds of thousands of dollars", everybody pitched-in to self-produce a television show.

The first thirteen episode season will be recapped on RFD-TV, January 3rd and the second season will begin the following week.

Of course the family would love for a larger network to pick them up, so that they might better recoup their investment, but they seem to be having fun with what they have and they may already be making headway toward finding mates for the rest of the sons.

Palin Pelting to Play

He may have missed Sarah Palin, but the tomato throwing incident at Mall of America was captured on film for TLC's Mall Cops: Mall of America, as were the "ghostbusters" hoping to make a YouTube video and the dressing-down of a Caribou Coffee employee for dumping the trash, while not wearing an ID.
