ClickBait: CBSNews.com
CBSnews.com is obviously no stranger to using racy material for traffic.
A couple of weeks ago, I linked to one of their more egregious examples and though they didn't apply as much context, they pointed to the same in one of their year-end lists.
Continuing in that fine, Edward R. Murrow tradition, 48 Hours: Mystery released a slideshow of the "Top 10 Sex Tape Scandals of 2009" this week, which opens with the sexy cover of an x-rated videotape, but I'm going to be a little more judicious and only embed the story with a halfway interesting angle.
BTW: If you read the full text story, it may be less of a mystery, who started the camera and who may have provided the tip.

Viral Marketing Attempt Backfires
Brandt Andersen, the owner of NBA Development League team Utah Flash has apologized for misleading fans during a recent stunt.
It seems when Michael Jordan was being inducted into Basketball Hall of Fame, he made special mention of a game winning shot in the NBA Finals over Byron Russell of the Utah Jazz.
Andersen offered $100,000 to the winner's charity, if the two men would play 21 during halftime of the Flash's opening game.
Unfortunately, Andersen never heard from Mr. Jordan, so he hired a lookalike and some bodyguards, sent them around town to create marketing buzz, plus he arranged for a YouTube to be posted of "Michael Jordan" eating at an area restaurant.
As you might imagine, when the 7,500 fans learned the truth at the halftime stunt, they erupted in boos, a third left before the game was over and the owner has since apologized.
For his part, Mr. Russell is also taking a beating in the press.

You May Not Have to Wait Until Heaven
Beliefnet has included Jill Peterson and Kevin Heinz, who along with their wedding party, danced their way to the altar and into viral infamy as one of the website's ten nominees for "Most Inspiring of 2009".
Capt. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, Michael J. Fox and the Iranian Protesters for Freedom are among the other nominees, which visitors can vote on once a day until December 12th, when the field will be narrowed to three and the site's editors will select among them.
So, though Jill and Kevin may not have a shot at the final prize, it is a good opportunity for the website to honor them for using their viral to raise money against domestic abuse and for them to link the couple's website, which has information about donating to the cause.
It also strikes me as a good reason to embed the clip, once again.

Altar Alter
Dana Hanna surprises his bribe by updating his Facebook status and Twittering from the altar and by having her phone available, so she could do the same. According to the "more info" link on YouTube, the minister was aware of stunt, while the bride and guests were not.
